RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY

AUSTIN DENTIST | TEJAS PATEL, DDS

Restorative dentistry consists of procedures intended to return your mouth and teeth to full functionality. Restorations can include cosmetic options, such as tooth colored fillings or crowns, and more comprehensive solutions like dental bridges or dentures.

Tooth Colored Fillings. Older fillings were made of mercury mixed with silver, and over time these fillings expand, contract, and cause further damage to your tooth. At our practice, we use a strong, natural tooth colored composite to fill cavities and replace old fillings.

Dental Crowns – When a tooth’s chewing surface is damaged, whether due to decay, a crack or break, a root canal, or an old filling, a porcelain crown can restore the look and functionality of the tooth. Crowns are also used to cover dental implants.

Dentures – Dentures can be used to restore your smile when numerous teeth are missing or damaged, or when all teeth have fallen out or been extracted due to decay or gum disease. Partial dentures replace multiple missing teeth with restorations that match your remaining teeth, while full dentures create a brand new, functional smile that is straight, white, and even.
